Presentation Self Assesment
For my presentation about my digital story I decided to use Prezi. I had only used it once before but found it to be very easy to use. Initially I wanted to use Power Point because I was familiar with it, but after kicking myself to branch out in order to offer a different presentation I ended up with what I have. I thought I would offer pictures depicting the main idea of the sub text to drive the point home. My presentation describes how I will set up my digital story line. I am starting with Christmas because that is when Charles, my fiance's little brother" got "Call of Duty" for the wii. the story line is a chronological order of how I ended up with my obsession to the game. I would like to receive additional ideas for my project by the class. I have stuck to the story line that actually played out.

Good idea, but not many people know what Call of Duty is, much less how to play it on the wii. So, maybe include more about what the game is, and maybe how much time you spend playing it a week to back up your statement that you are addicted.
ReplyDeleteI really like the addiction metaphor you started -- it'd be fun to have Charles as the enabler/dealer who gets you hooked and then leaves you high and dry to wallow in your addiction. And I'd definitely have pictures of you playing, screenshots or videos from actual gameplay, etc. so that non-gamers can get a feel for how this could be so addicting.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your storyline. Maybe you could set up your presentation as a battle that the two of you are fighting. He has asked for backup and he leaves you when it becomes too difficult. That way it would show viewers that the game becomes real in a way when you spend so much time playing it.
ReplyDeleteI thought your presentation was perfect! All you really have to do is make the movie with what you have here. You could, however, talk about Call of Duty a wee bit like Kim C. said.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of how Charles got you addicted to Call of Duty! I meant to suggest this yesterday, but I would throw in a small video clip of your girlfriend giving her take on your addiction since she has to live with you. Maybe get a quote from Charles. I think that would make the story more rounded. Other than that, I can't wait to see your story! It'll be a great one. Hope this helps, Sergio.
ReplyDeleteExplain briefly what The Call of duty is in the introduction and start with Christmas and go exactly in the same order you did your presentation.
